Vicky was referred to the PeoplePlus Sunderland office for the Restart Scheme on 22nd November 2024 after being out of work for just over a year. She was dedicated to securing employment in the security industry, and so, she completed both an SIA and CCTV license course and applied for roles in security, retail, and customer service. Unfortunately though, she was struggling to get responses from employers.
George joined The Restart Scheme in Tonbridge with a brief background in the hospitality industry and a clear passion for working with and caring for animals. Like many young people finishing their education, he faced uncertainty about which career path to follow. Although he was eager to enter the workforce, George found it challenging to secure employment in a sector aligned with his interests, and he was unaware of the range of opportunities available to him.
At 22 years old, Rose had never been in employment. After two years of working with the Jobcentre, she was still unsure how to take the next step into the world of work. That’s when her Work Coach introduced her to The Restart Scheme, explaining how it could help build her confidence and provide tailored support with job searching and applications.
With a passion for helping others and a clear goal in mind, Kirsty joined the Restart Scheme in Darlington ready to transform her career. Despite having no experience in education, she threw herself into training, upskilling, and job searching - all with one aim: to support children with special educational needs.
From fresh qualifications to his first full-time job, Kyran didn’t waste a single day. With help from the Restart Scheme, he sharpened his CV, boosted his confidence, and landed a Warehouse Operative role at Lidl. Now, he’s back on track, earning, saving for his future, and building a career.
