Nicholas has newfound confidence after joining the Working For You scheme

Nicholas joined PeoplePlus Scotland at the beginning of 2022, He initially had plans to start up his own IT business but was struggling mentally and financially. He was looking for support to help him back into work as he really needed to start saving up money for his career goals.
Nicholas was referred by the job centre to join the Working For You scheme after being unemployed for five months. He had a few barriers that were stopping him from gaining employment such as his mental health and self-confidence. But, after working alongside Key Worker Andrew, he has now started a new job in a warehouse which he is extremely happy with.
Key Worker, Andrew, has said “I think the fact we have direct contact with employers and how much we actually care made a huge difference in moving Nicholas into work”.
Nicholas has said the following about his time on the Working For You scheme:
“Andrew has helped me massively, he concentrated on me getting better in my own head space before I even started looking for work, and once I was ready for work, he helped me with my CV and interviews skills which gave me all the confidence I needed to gain my new job role”.
Now that Nicholas is in work, he hopes to save enough money to start his own business in a couple years’ time and to gain new transferable skills that he can use in his future business venture.
