International Women's Day 2022 Event

In aid of International Women's day female participants enjoyed pastries and tea whilst listening to guest speakers who covered a range of subjects from balancing motherhood with a career, working in a male dominated environment, getting the right work life balance and more. They also heard from the charity Threshold DAS who support victims of domestic violence locally. Participants were invited to hear what they had to say either online or in the Ammanfrod office in Wales.
Below are details about our guest speakers. Their videos from the event will be available on our YouTube channel from tomorrow.
Ronia Dininno is a Civil Engineer for Alan Griffiths Engineering and in addition to this she is also juggling being a full time mother to two very young children. She shares her story as to what it is like working full time in such a demanding male dominated environment whilst raising her two children.
Emma Jones from Evans Jones Haulage shared her story about how she has moved on from being a recruitment officer to now owning her own haulage transport company.
Heike Griffiths is a lecturer at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David as well as working as an interpreter for the police. Heike shares her story as to how she put her career on hold for over a decade to raise her children and how only recently she retrained and qualified at an older age to pursue her career.
Finally participants heard from Joanna Leeuwreke from Threshold DAS. Joanna spoke about raising awareness of domestic violence and the support that is readily available to females, males and their children. In addition to this, she gave an outline of the current accredited courses that they can now provide to support participants local to the area where the event was held.
