From Zero Confidence to Working in Hospitality

When Rosalyn was referred to Restart with PeoplePlus in Dartford she was a single mum to two children and did not feel that she was work ready. She lacked confidence and she didn’t want to join the programme initially, as she was nervous about what she could expect – Expectations were low!
Once Rosalyn met with her Employment Advisor (EA), Jessie Meelam, and learned about the support that was on offer to her through PeoplePlus she was excited to get started. She was first helped to build her confidence up as well as getting her general employability skills improved. Once she had done that she was supported to update her CV. All of this combined meant she was in a much better position to find work. Her EA worked with her to search for jobs that would be suitable for her and she was offered support and guidance where she needed it. As well as having the confidence issues which were barriers to finding work, she wasn’t able to travel far due to her commitments as a parent so the job had to be right.
Rosalyn has now been successful in finding work in the hospitality industry which works well around her lifestyle.
Rosalyn said: “Trust your EA, go in with an open mind and trust the process”.
Rosalyn is excited for what the future holds for her and her family going forward and so are we!
