Employability Day Celebrations in Scotland

In aid of Employability Day we invited various organisations to join us at a celebratory event in our Glasgow office. They included:
Thriving Survivors, Ruchazie Food Pantry, Roystonhill Community Hub, Glasgow Active, Men Matter Scotland, DWP Work Coaches from Lauriston & Springburn JCP’s.
During the first part of the day it was about sharing what each organisation does and also provided a great networking opportunity which allows for a more collaborative way of working going forward.
During the second part of the event PeoplePlus showcased the services that are provided to participants on Fair Start Scotland. This included:
Lead Trainer David Matthew with his group of participants who attended a session on Interview Skills
Trainer Sheena Walls group attending an ICT skills training course
Andrew Rodden, a PeoplePlus Key Worker and his Pre-ESOL group, who are in their last week of a 6 week programme to improve their English skills. We have worked alongside the DWP to deliver this course and we were delighted that two representatives from the JCP attended to see the progress of the group.
Stephanie from Salus spoke about the case management she delivers to PeoplePlus participants every Thursday through Supported Employment.
