Active April: Carers Active Together

As part of Active April, carers came together with our Carers Hub in Gloucestershire on Wednesday 15th April to take part in our Carers Active Together sessions. The sessions took place at two beautiful locations, the Canal and River Trust and Westonbirt Arboretum offering carers and those they support a valuable opportunity to get moving, connect with others, and focus on their wellbeing.

The sessions provided a relaxed and supportive environment where carers and those they support could enjoy being active together. Whether it was walking, gentle movement or simply spending time outdoors, the emphasis was on feeling comfortable, included and supported.

It was wonderful to see carers engaging with one another, sharing experiences and enjoying some time away from their caring responsibilities. Activities like these highlight how important it is for carers to look after both their physical and mental health, and to take moments for themselves alongside others who understand their situation.

Events such as Carers Active Together demonstrate the power of bringing carers together building connections, reducing isolation, and creating positive shared experiences that support wellbeing.

For carers who were unable to attend in person, we also offered a range of online wellbeing sessions, ensuring everyone had the opportunity to take part. Activities such as distance Reiki and Qi Gong provided carers with time to pause, relax and focus on their wellbeing from the comfort of their own home.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us and helped make the sessions so welcoming and uplifting. We are looking forward to building on this momentum and creating more opportunities for carers to stay active together in the future.
