The annual Movement to Work Youth Employability Awards took place on Monday 15th April where PeoplePlus was shortlisted and selected as ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Partner of the Year’ category.

Every year the event highlights individuals and organisations across the Movement to Work network who have been particularly extraordinary in their efforts to tackle youth unemployment, including employers and amazing young people who are overcoming barriers to work.

Our partnership with Movement to Work, focuses on tackling the "no job-no experience" cycle. We provide targeted support and training programmes aligned with employer needs through our Social Recruitment Framework (SRF). The SRF addresses the complex challenges faced by both young people and employers in today’s labour market. By starting with available job opportunities and working backwards, we tailor training to meet employer demands, effectively bridging the gap between job seekers and available positions. Since 2022 this approach has facilitated over 2,000 individuals' access to quality sector-specific training, for Tesco, Amazon and The Body Shop resulting in over 1377 job placements with a social value impact of approximately £20 million.

For the 2024 Awards, we were doubly proud as one of those people who we supported to move into work with Tesco was Liam, who was also shortlisted in the 'Rising Star' category. Watch Liam’s story here

Laura Savage, Director for Partner Services and Social Value Solutions comments: "We are really proud to have been recognised at Highly Commended for the Partner of the Year Category. This is not just a recognition of our commitment to social value services, it’s a celebration of the potential we see in every individual we help, like Liam who joined us last night, and a promise to continue championing youth employment as a key initiative as part of our Social Value Solutions."
