We attended the ACT Annual Learner Awards 2025 in Wales last night and we were delighted when we received awards in both of the Jobs Growth Wales+ categories. A huge congratulations to our learners:

Jayden Brown won Gold for the Jobs Growth Wales+ 'Engagement Learner of the Year'

Jayden has made incredible progress, improving his reading age, handwriting and literacy skills through sheer hard work. Diagnosed with moderate learning difficulties and let down by inadequate support in school, Jayden has embraced the challenge of learning form the basics, showing unwavering motivation even when tasks felt ‘baby level’. He has achieved two employability skills awards and continues to work towards greater independence.

and

Lilli-Ella Crawley won Jobs Growth Wales+ 'Advancement Learner of the Year'

Lilli-Ella’s journey on the Jobs Growth Wales+ programme has been marked by extraordinary dedication and ambition. Determined to become a beauty therapist and business owner, she has meticulously planed her career path, financing and completing a nail technician qualification with distinction alongside her centre-based learning. Despite setbacks, such as a placement falling through, Lilli-Ella remained focused, excelling in City and Guilds qualifications and securing a salon placement where she is thriving. Her employer, impressed by her skills and client growth, is funding additional training with a promise of full-time employment.

Kelly Reynolds Director for PeoplePlus Wales said:

"What an amazing evening we've had celebrating our young learners success. What a fabulous achievement for them both!"

Our Jobs Growth Wales+ programme helps young people aged 16-19 pick up the skills and knowledge they need to get a job or progress into other learning opportunities like Apprenticeships.

We’ve designed the programme with local employers, so they know they’re getting the skills that are needed in the workplace. Whatever sector learners are thinking of going into, we can help.

What’s more, they will earn while they learn.

The programme gives learners a chance to test out a new career before they commit to further learning. And our expert team of mentors are on hand offering support every step of the way.
