Robert
We helped Robert overcome barriers that prevented him from gaining employment.
Robert came to PeoplePlus having been out of work for a few years. Robert completed Entry 3 and level 1 English and passed his CSCS test. He has since started on a traineeship in construction.
Ted
We helped Ted gain his FLT Licence and gain employment.
Ted has been unemployed for two years completed employability and passed his FLT licence. We got him funding for a CHIP Licence and now Ted has an employment working as a cargo handler on Immingham dock.
Phil
We supported Phil on his security journey.
Phil enrolled onto the SIA course and passed with flying colours. We helped Phil secure an interview in the security sector. He was successful in the interview and now works as a security officer.
Stephen
We helped Stephen overcome barriers that prevented him from gaining employment.
Stephen joined the Warehouse and Storage course at PeoplePlus. We secured an interview for Stephen with Yodel. Stephen now works for Yodel and is enjoying it.
Donna
We helped Donna to gain employment in security.
After completing the Employability course Donna undertook her SIA training. Within days of achieving her SIA badge Donna attended an interview secured by Peopleplus and been offered a job as a Security Officer.
Kevin
Kevin secures a job in security.
Kevin completed several courses - equality and diversity, employability, SIA and mental health with our tutor Joanne Finch. Kevin completed the Security Course and we secured an interview as a fleet security. He was successful and is enjoying it.
Mike
Mike secures a job in security.
Mike completed his SIA course with PeoplePlus. He is now working full time for Sentry Security and came into the office on to thank the team for not giving up on him.
Tabs
We supported Tabs on her security journey.
Tabs attended our SIA routeway programme. On successful completion we arranged an interview with Cordant. She has now been given her own Tesco store to guard. She popped into the centre to let us know she is loving working and said she is so thankful to the team for all the help they have given.
Sarah
We supported Sarah to overcome employment barriers and gain employment.
Sarah was unemployed 6 years before starting the Aim Awards course with PeoplePlus. Sarah completed the course, and we put her forward for an interview with Pets at Home. She attended an interview for a Warehouse Cleaning Operative, but when she got to her interview to her biggest surprise, the interviewer was looking to also recruit a supervisor. Sarah was interviewed and was told she was going to be given a feedback in 3 days, but she was called on the same day and offered a position for supervisor.
Craig
We supported Craig to gain his SIA licence.
Craig attended of our skills centres and enrolled onto the Extended Employability programme. Craig had such a positive attitude and determination to complete the programme and get onto his SIA training so that he could apply for work in the security sector.
Following the Employability course, Craig went on and successfully passed the SIA course and has recently contacted Peopleplus to inform us that he has successfully gained employment as a security guard at Lidl.
Gareth
Gareth joined PeoplePlus with several barriers to work.
Gareth completed his L2 course in Personal Skills in Employability for Warehousing. Gareth has now had a successful interview with Adidas and looking forward to starting work. He is planning to go on to gain his forklift truck licence next.
Gareth said “I would definitely recommend the course. The tutor helped us to achieve our goals and I have enjoyed coming into the centre. All the staff are very polite, and it has been a great experience to meet people from different backgrounds on the course.”
Stacey and Arthur
We helped Stacey and Authur overcome barriers that prevented them from gaining employment.
Stacey and Arthur joined the Functional Skills English course. They both came out at initial assessment at Pre-Entry Level.
With lots of hard work and determination Stacey and Arthur managed to improve their spelling, punctuation, reading and grammar. They also made a massive effort to be able to write more fluently and legibly.
The most obvious improvement was the way they became far more confident.
Stacey and Arthur then went on to do their Entry Level 1 Reading and Writing exams which they passed with flying colours!
Both Stacey and Arthur have now gone on to do further courses and we wish them well in the future.
Sue
We supported Sue to gain confidence and motivation.
Sue was unemployed for many years and had lost confidence during this time. She was supported by Peopleplus staff to choose a route through Employability learning onto an SIA course. She has sat her exams and is awaiting results.
Sue states that her courses have helped her immensely to be motivated to leave the house, re-engage with society, gain qualifications and seek employment back in an industry that she loves. Sue has clearly grown in confidence, and her future is bright.
