Smart Environmental Support Services join the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group.

We are delighted to announce that Smart Environmental Support Services, a labour provider that specialises in the waste and recycling sector, has become the latest business to commit to membership of the Social Recruitment Advocacy Group (SRAG). They join forces with a growing collective of private, public and third sector organisations who have embraced the principles of social recruitment for their power to transform society. SRAG members share a common purpose - to create fairer, more equitable workplaces where everyone can fulfil their potential. In the SRAG, the challenges of recruitment and retention are transformed into opportunities for growth, development, and social value building.
In keeping with the values of the SRAG, Smart Solutions work in partnership with a training provider to deliver their SWAP (Sector Workplace Academy) programme. Access is given to unemployed people who have found their extensive job search challenging due to the barriers they are dealing with.
Targeted training support can allow learners’ natural enthusiasm for securing good work to shine through – potentially in an industry they had never considered before. With the Smart SWAP, learners achieve a Level 1 qualification in Waste & Recycling – which is where Corey started his waste management career journey.
Corey is now a Team Leader with Smart Environmental Solutions for Suez, and he shares his story here.
Next step will be for Smart Solutions to receive their SRAG Charter Mark level (watch this space!) which will reflect the scope of their existing social value building activities and provide a framework to help drive their ambitions. The SRAG Charter is making sure more SRAG member stories like Corey’s receive the recognition and support they deserve.
