Good To Know

You can take an apprenticeship at Intermediate, Advanced or Higher levels, depending on your existing skills, experience and aspirations. Apprenticeships are suitable for all ages and you can expect to be doing work-based learning with an employer and get paid. Your apprenticeship will include a National Vocational Qualification, Functional Skills and a knowledge-based element or technical certificate.

Training and Support

Training will take place in the workplace and will be delivered by your employer and tutor/assessor. Your knowledge and competency assessment throughout the apprenticeship will be carried out through observations, regular reports and plans, team testimony, physical products of your work, online assessment, correspondence and discussion.


If you’re aged 16-18 you can expect to be paid the standard apprenticeship wage, currently £3.30 an hour. If you are 19 and over and have completed your first year you will be paid at least the minimum wage rate for your age.
